What You’ll Be Doing:

 

As a Contract Specialist & Project Purchaser, you’ll be responsible for estimating project costs and ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement of all materials and services. You’ll work alongside engineers, fabricators, and site teams to keep projects moving forward efficiently.

 

Willingness to travel to supplier locations and project sites across Malaysia is part of the job.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Contract Specialist:

 

  • Estimate project and tender costs based on drawings, specifications, and material lists.
  • Analyze scope, quantities, and pricing to prepare cost breakdowns.
  • Monitor actual project spending and track cost variations.
  • Support the preparation of progress claims and final accounts.
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and subcontractors on financial and cost matters.
  • Provide regular cost reporting and assist in budget control.

 

Project Purchaser:

 

  • Source, evaluate, and purchase materials, components, and services for steel fabrication projects.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project milestones.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

Education:

 

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, or Mechanical Engineering.

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 1 – 3 years in cost estimation (steel fabrication or mechanical installation is a plus!).

 

Skills:

 

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of steel materials, fabrication processes, and project costing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of estimation or procurement software is an advantage.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Must be willing to travel for project site visits and supplier coordination.

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for conveyor systems, including screw conveyors, belt conveyors, and bucket elevators.
  • Create fabrication and assembly drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret technical specifications and develop optimized designs.
  • Ensure design feasibility by considering load calculations, structural integrity, and material selection.
  • Modify and update drawings based on engineering feedback and project requirements.
